2008 Events & Beyond:
For 2008 we are headed to Italy for a two-week Tandem Tour of Tuscany and Umbria. While this tour has filled we welcome inquiries about future tours and we are currently working on overseas trips for 2009 and 2010.
Each year over the Memorial Day holiday weekend we host an "unofficial" tandem rally somewhere in the Rocky Mountain region. Past trips have taken us to Santa Fe, Moab, Steamboat Springs and more. We often have 40-60 tandem teams join us for these weekends. They have always been great fun!
Our annual Memorial Day weekend trip will take us to Glenwood Springs, Colorado for 3 days in 2008. Details will be announced early in 2008.
To join us on an upcoming ride please drop us an e-mail.

For 2007 we spent Memorial Weekend in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

The
Tandem Lifestyle is an intangible benefit of being a tandem
owner and rider. It is as much about the relationship of captain
to stoker, as it is about the connection you share with other
tandem riders. In the late 60s, Honda Motorcycles
launched a very successful advertising campaign "You
meet the nicest people on a Honda." The same can be said
of tandem bicycles. Tandem riders tend to be some of the most
gregarious and friendly individuals you will meet.
Tandeming is by its very nature
more social than riding a single bike. You have someone riding
along with you every time you take your tandem bike for a spin.
One of the unwritten "rules" of being a stoker is
waving and saying hello to other riders and passersby. Especially
the average 10-year old boy you pass who will almost always
point and say, "wow
cool bike."
There are casual tandem group rides
and even more organized tandem rallies held throughout the
United States. Riders of all abilities join together to share
their love of tandem bicycles and tandeming. Each Memorial Day Tandem Cycle Works organizes an informal tandem event in the Rocky Mountain West. See photos from the last two years when we road in Grand Junction, Colorado and Moab, Utah.
Many
tandem riders travel extensively with their tandems, both
within the United States and internationally. Teams from Denver
have traveled as far away as Europe, New Zealand, and most recently, Ireland. Dont think you have to be a particularly strong
team to enjoy touring on your tandem. With good planning and
preparation, even novice teams can create a unique vacation
experience by traveling with their tandem.
We hope to see you on an upcoming ride!
