Tandem Events, Near and Far!

An intangible benefit of being a tandem owner and rider is not only the relationship of captain to stoker, but it is also the connection you share with other tandem riders. In the late 60’s, Honda Motorcycles launched a very successful advertising campaign — "You meet the nicest people on a Honda." The same can be said of tandem cyclists. Tandeming is by its very nature more social than riding a single bike. You have someone riding along with you every time you take your tandem bike for a spin.

The social aspect of tandem riding is extended when you ride with a group of other tandems. We tend to be some of the most gregarious, welcoming and friendly individuals you will meet. This makes for very special cycling experiences. At Tandem Cycle Works we consider ourselves tandem matchmakers, encouraging couples to meet and ride with other tandems. This is where the real fun of tandem riding begins! We feel that this is such an important aspect of our shop that we host day rides, weekend rallies and international tandem tours!

To us, tandem travel is the BEST way to vacation and we invite you to join us. Tandem Cycle Works hosts many events, from day rides in the Front Range of Colorado, to weekend rides in the Rocky Mountain West, and beyond this to International Tandem Tours. Not only do we sell tandems at our store, but we also create opportunities for you to meet and ride with others who enjoy tandem riding.

International Tandem Tours

We have been leading tandem tours to international destinations for the past several years. We offer 1-2 trips per year. Destinations have included Ireland, Spain, Italy, France, New Zealand and more. In 2012 Tandem Cycle Works will be taking tandem groups to Italy for a tour in northern Italy around Lago di Garda and Venezia!

We are already planning 2013 tours when we will be heading back to France. While our Italy tour has filled, we invite you to e-mail us if you would like more information about our 2013 tour to Provence.

Memorial Day Tandem Weekend

Each year over the Memorial Day holiday weekend we host an "unofficial" tandem rally somewhere in the Rocky Mountain region. Past trips have taken us to Santa Fe, Moab, Grand Junction, Steamboat Spring, Aspen and more. We often have 40-60 tandem teams join us for these weekends. They have always been great fun!

For 2012 we are considering several different locations, so plans for this year will be announced early in the year.

Rides along Colorado's Front Range

We often lead rides at home and invite our customers to join us. We sit on the board for the Colorado Tandem Club as well and often join other local tandem riders for fun rides in the Denver metro area.
